Went to S.F. for the weekend to see my fiancee in John Jasperse’s “Misuse Liable to Prosecution” at Yerba Buena, starting a series of twists and turns of events that ultimately ended in this frog’suntimely and mysterious death…

I got into town in the morning and hit up my friend Alexander Spit because i was trying to make some rap songs. His rehearsal space/recording studio was only a few blocks away from where Eleanor was rehearsing, so i cruised over to check it out. They have a huge space, two big rooms and an office, located smack in the middle of the tenderloin. We got to work, and in less than an hour we had both tracked our verses and were on to the chorus. When we had finished, my phone rang, and it was my friend Despot.

He was in town on tour with Ratatat, and was working on an album with them where they made a song a day on the bus. He’d get the beat by lunch and then perform the song he had written that night. The album was called “Jerry”, named after Despot’s dad. He asked me to be on it and I said sure. So i walked up telegraph to Japantown where they were staying at the Japanese best Western and we wrote the song right there in their hotel room, but first we went to get boba and went shopping for samurai swords. The boba was so-so and none of the swords were keepers, but the song was a hit. It was called “I’m so Jerry” and we performed it that night to a sold out crowd at the Fillmore. The next night Eleanor killed it at Yerba Buena, and me and Alexander Spit did another jam with a spaced out beat from Bobby Evans.  When we got back in town, Ratatat had another show and some days off in LA.  We went to Skeet Skeet’s night at temp spaces, and afterwards we wound up at Taco Zone on Alvarado, and Bobby had these highly suspicious pictures on his camera, with no idea how they got there.
