We were invited out to Las Vegas to play records at the POOL Tradeshow. Three days, three nights of beauteous, oxygen-rich meandering accompanied by the mellifluous sounds of ubiquitous slot machines. Say what you will about the man, he knows what to do with raw fennel. If you don’t know, wendy yao’s shop in china town is lovely, the lucky dragons really are lucky, and rob barber from high places does a mean ny tough guy pizza maker dance.

Boadrum 88. Imagine you are sitting at a drum set, surrounded by 87 other people who are doing the same…well, 86, because one of the other people has a seven necked guitar. Now imagine the person with the seven necked guitar holds up a white staff with a trident at the top. Once he has the attention of all of the other drummers, he bashes the seven necked guitar with the staff. Chaos ensues. Being surrounded by good bros and statues of primordial tigers fighting each other was really just icing on the cake. Hello everyone,

These are busy and beautiful times. We had a blast at the boadrum 88 event with the boredoms last friday at the labrea tar pits. The whole time we played i could feel the ghosts of wooly mammoths all around us, perpetually starving to death with their phantasmagoric feet sinking in tar. Hope they enjoyed the sounds of 88 inspired primates communally ripping in unison outdoors. I know i did.

Last night the benefit for FYF was also jamming in extremis. If you missed it, we’ll be able to play a longer set on friday at our show at sugar salon on sunset. Mostly new songs from the record(s) we’ve been working on (too long in the making already!)

As for moon dogg tonight, expect the following:

The harringtons join us (from Nite Club in Glassel Park), and it is also unofficial pina colada specials night. Nathan would love to make you a frozen pina colada. All you have to do is ask!
